The 19" Valentino Crash sounds exactly as I imagined it would. The build quality is beyond reproach. It also pairs perfectly with the 17" Valentino Crash, which I also purchased. Both are tonally perfectly matched. I’ve experienced this same effect before when I bought two Mehteran cymbals from the Ayasofya series here. It’s hard to believe you can get this kind of quality at such a great price.
My drummer loves these cymbals, they sound better than the AAX set we were using prior, and are recording well. They have more sound, and have sheen and depth and are very bright and shiny, yet have no harshness or too much top end. Perfecto! The rock beat raw crash is killer too
I bought this for playing with brushes. It works well for that. Great with sticks too. It has a complex but controlled wash - very reminiscent of some other thinner Bosphorus cymbals. The crash and mallet hits sound is a bit "gongy" but thats fine.
It look the bees knees. Lovely cymbal for acoustic jazz. Sounds Anatolian are great too. Got to be the goto address for any Turkish hand hammered cymbal.
