About: Masterwork cymbals are manufactured completely by hand with B-20-B25 in the finest Turkish tradition in the city of Istanbul. Every cymbal is melted, hammered, lathed and finished by specialists. Our products leave the factory after being subjected to a stringent series of quality controls and soundchecks. This is the basic aspect of our corporate philosophy. Cymbals were unknown in Europe until the Turk raids first brought them there. The story began in Istanbul in the 15th century with Zildjian family. They were used predominantly in military music. The firsts written European music requiring cymbals dates back to the late 17th century. After that it took another 200 years until they were introduced in modern music from jazz to rock in drums.
